A little about us..

Zoey entered our world on July 4th, 2020, and was a true firework. Our entire world began and ended with her. From the moment Zoey could move, she never stopped. She hit every milestone early, had the best jumps, spins, and dance moves out there. Zoey loved her puppy dogs, had a belly laugh that I pray we never stop hearing, and always looked forward to our family “kaco” (taco) nights on Sundays. She was the funniest, most fearless, and determined little thing—always knowing exactly what she wanted and not afraid to let you know it. Most of the time, she would just try to do it herself.

Zoey had an obsession with The Lion King; any time she brought you the remote, you knew it was Lion King time—again. What we would give to see her dance to "Hakuna Matata" one more time.

On February 3rd, 2022, our lives as we knew them stopped. Although our story is our own, the grief we live with is unfortunately shared by other parents. After the unexpected loss of Zoey, we are forever learning how to navigate our lives amidst this grief. There is no greater feeling of loneliness than being on this earth without your child. It truly takes a village to get through this life, and ours continues to lift us up—family, friends, our community, and at times, complete strangers.

Grief usually isn’t loud; typically, it’s pretty quiet, always just riding in the passenger seat. The world around you looks the same, but none of it feels right, life continues while your world has stopped completely. As time goes on, along with missing them, you also miss the vision of yourself that existed with them. We are learning how to live in a world that doesn’t feel quite right. For us, this grief has slowed us down a little, taught us to love louder, and encouraged us to savor the small moments we may not have noticed before. It has caused us to cross paths with some incredible people who would have never come into our lives before.

We couldn't imagine a better way to keep Zoey's memory alive than by showing up as so many did for us. We hope to honor her legacy by taking our loss and healing to create a community of compassion, supporting others in their darkest hours, donating to fundraisers within our community along the way, and we pray much more!

Thank you for being here. Hakuna Matata.
